On behalf of Wright & Filippis, The Filippis Foundation, and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, we invite you to attend the 2010 Michigan Health and Rehabilitation Conference, a dynamic interdisciplinary program. This conference is intended to address the multiple issues facing our rehabilitation patients, their families, and those caring for them.
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan (BCBSM) has approved this program for 6.0 contact hours. BCBSM is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Michigan Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. Credit will be given to those who attend the entire program and complete the conference evaluation form, including signature.
An application has been made with the Commission for Case Manager Certification (CCMC), the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC), the Certified Disability Manager Specialist Commission (CDMSC), and the Certified Worker's Compensation Professional (CWCP) for 6.0 continuing education credits.
Back by popular demand is Keynote Speaker Norm Bossio. Norm is an independent management consultant, trainer, and public speaker who provides technical assistance and training in a wide variety of management areas. Prior to public speaking, he was a teacher, principal, and superintendent in public schools as well as an adjunct faculty member and consultant to the Management Certificate Program at Stonehill College.
The Michigan Health & Rehab Conference, held each spring, provides a dynamic, interdisciplinary program that addresses the multiple issues facing rehabilitation patients. Health care professionals including nurses, case managers, physical therapists, and social workers attend to receive continuing education credits, but that’s not all they receive.
Each year the program’s topics and individualized breakout sessions differ and are customized to the professional’s interests. Attendees can walk away with the knowledge of alternative pain management strategies, learn the complications of diabetes in rehab patients, discuss clinical perspectives on Alzheimer’s disease, or explore the links between cardiovascular disease and sleep disordered breathing. The day’s program not only includes courses, but is also a valuable meet & greet event for networking, and attendees can visit with suppliers of state-of-the-art healthcare products.
