Oxygen Therapy

l-515-2.jpgOur bodies use oxygen for all of its functions, and a certain level must be maintained in the blood. For some people, certain diseases make it difficult for that to happen. Breathing in additional oxygen will bring your blood oxygen levels up to where they should be.

Wright & Filippis offers a variety of oxygen products because not one solution is right for everyone.  All of the following products are provided by a Wright & Filippis licensed clinician who will assist patients with delivery, set-up, and continued use of the oxygen equipment:

Oxygen Concentrators
5-liter-concentrator.jpg An oxygen concentrator draws in room air, removes the nitrogen and delivers the concentrated oxygen through tubing into a nasal cannula.  Portable oxygen concentrators use new and innovative technology that give patients the freedom to travel.

Cylinder Oxygen
cylinders_pic.jpg If a smaller amount of supplemental oxygen is needed, a high-pressure cylinder system is used. Oxygen gas is pressurized and stored in aluminum cylinders and then transmitted to the patient through a nasal cannula. Oxygen cylinders are available in various sizes to offer an option that best fits anyone’s lifestyle.

Liquid Oxygen

In its liquid form, a large amount of oxygen can be stored in a stationary, insulated container at a low pressure. Portable liquid units are also available, allowing users to enjoy increased freedom and mobility outside the home.

To keep track of the oxygen levels in your blood, your doctor may recommend a fingertip Pulse Oximeter.  This measures the saturation levels of oxygen in your blood and is a test that can be performed daily.  Order a Pulse Oximeter online today.

Oxygen is a prescription drug and can only be prescribed by your doctor. Only use your oxygen as prescribed. Never increase the level of oxygen yourself. If you should have any problems, contact your doctor and discuss having your prescribed level changed. Let Wright & Filippis know if your prescribed level of oxygen has changed.
