 There are some special preparations that need to be made, in addition to the usual adjustments when bringing a baby home. You should follow these guidelines:
- Place the monitor on a sturdy shelf, out of the reach of children.

Do not place the monitor near a radio or TV -- it may cause interference.

Keep a clear pathway to the baby's room.

Keep a clipboard, pen and event sheets near your baby's crib.

Keep a flashlight near the crib to check the baby when the alarm sounds.

Place a phone in the baby's room in case of emergency.
