Fifth container of medical equipment sent to Africa
Throughout the year, Wright & Filippis collects donations of gently used medical equipment to send to Ghana, West Africa. This year, the donations were so abundant, ranging from crutches to commodes, and wrist splints to wheelchairs, that an entire 40 foot container was filled to the brim. The net worth of the supplies totaled about $250,000.
 Wright & Filippis, along with local hospitals and doctors’ offices, gathered orthotics, prosthetics, hospital and surgical supplies all year long to send to Ghana. With over 18 million people living in Ghana, a large number of those are disabled individuals who are in need of the supplies being donated. The hospital supplies will be given to a hospital in Accra, and the orthotic and prosthetic supplies will be donated to the Ministry of Health.
