Dearborn Orthotist is Honored for Volunteer Work

The United Way Community Services program honored Wright & Filippis' Kevin Mitchell, an orthotist at the Dearborn facility, for his volunteer work. At the April 25 ceremony, Mitchell received the CHEERS Award, which recognizes an individual, nominated by his or her employer, for outstanding volunteer work.

Mitchell founded Michigan Adaptive Sports with his brother, and for more than 20 years, he has helped to teach disabled individuals to ski, kayak, hand cycle and more. Mitchell now serves as President of MAS.

In addition to his work with MAS, Mitchell also created the World Distribution Center, where he refurbishes used orthotic equipment. The equipment is sent to missionaries around the world to bring hope to those who are disabled. Mitchell has also traveled to Latvia where he taught a clinic making braces for patients.

Wright & Filippis is proud to have employees like Kevin Mitchell who go above and beyond to care for others. Congratulations, Kevin for your outstanding and inspirational work.
