A Noteworthy Nomination

A.J. Filippis, President of Wright & Filippis, is among the top 36 businessmen and women who were honored for their accomplishments as leaders in business. Filippis was named a finalist for the Ernst & Young 2002 Eastern Michigan Entrepreneur of the Year Award. This annual award is given to active members of top management who are responsible for recent positive company performance.

A.J., a certified prosthetist and orthotist, began working for Wright & Filippis in 1968 as an orthotic and prosthetic technician. He was Vice President from 1981-1997, and in 1997, he became the president of the company. Since A.J. assumed leadership, Wright & Filippis has grown to 28 locations with nearly 600 employees.
