Lights, Camera, Action!!
As you walk down the hallway, you can smell the fresh popcorn cooking. Velvet ropes lead you inside to where the movie posters are covering the walls. You are handed some concession stand candy as you give the doorman your admission ticket. Are you at the movie theater? No, you're at the Wright & Filippis Company Appreciation Weekend!Over 400 employees gathered at the Troy Marriott to participate in the day's festivities, all based on our "movie" theme. The Saturday morning matinee was a double feature. The first video was the eagerly-anticipated Wright & Filippis Company Video. It included all of the interesting facts and information about the company. From where it began to what it has grown to become, this video completely demonstrated the components of Wright & Filippis. From now on, it will be used for marketing purposes and at employee orientations. Moving on to even more exciting events, the next film for the movie-themed weekend was the entertaining "Wright & Filippis, What's Up With That?" video. A slapstick spoof on all that W & F does, this video included all of the "behind the scenes" footage of employees and what REALLY goes on around here, all in good fun of course. This video will soon be available for purchase with donations going to the Rehabilitation Research Center. A picture is worth a thousand words, or in this case, almost a thousand departments. For the "mosaic", we began with an employee to represent each department. Each person came forward and had one tile with photos of people at Wright & Filippis, the name of their department and a complex blue and white background. Everyone individually placed their tiles on the board, in the special order necessary, to become the Wright & Filippis logo. Separately, we are just individual people and departments. But working together as one, we are what constitutes Wright & Filippis.
Also at this time we handed out the Big Tony service awards for the year. This award is to recognize individuals who demonstrate outstanding effort and achievement in providing exceptional customer service.
The afternoon events consisted of bowling, golfing, whirly ball, or a clue hunt. Everyone enjoyed an out-of-the-office outing with their co-workers.
