Company RoundupAccounting - Congratulations to Tom Eaton and his wife who are excited about their first baby, due in June. Administration - Pam Lupo, Director of Orthotics and W & F jetsetter, is taking another trip to Africa with FOCOS (The Foundation for Orthopaedics and Complex Spine). Administration is also pleased to announce that the Denim Day held at Wright & Filippis raised $940 for Breast Cancer Research! Advertising - The Advertising department has been making their way around to many of the facilities, to see how the other offices operate. Special kudos to Sherri for the excellent job she did planning the Company Appreciation Weekend. Alpena - Alpena is rapidly growing and expanding. New employee, Sarah Guthrie, became their new Customer Service Representative.
Detroit Medical Center - Remodeling and expansion continue at the DMC facility. Employee Willena Hrabowski is expanding her family, as well. She gave birth to a baby boy, Mareyhon, this August! Congratulations! Escanaba - Although they're still in the midst of unpacking, the Escanaba facility is excited about their move into new offices. This location is four times the size of their last one and has room to bring in many more customers, eh! Flint - Congratulations to employee Karen Angus, the proud new grandmother of a baby girl! Kalamazoo - Many Kalamazoo employees participated in the "Making Strides for Breast Cancer Walk" this October. This facility became the team sponsor for a dozen people who walked to raise money for the cause. Still in the fundraising business, Kalamazoo also participated with the Longaberger Basket Company for another breast cancer research fundraiser. They worked together to raise money by selling baskets, as the Kalamazoo facility raised awareness for mastectomy treatment. Lansing - Employee Laura Allen is the newest member to the Lansing facility. She is here to learn more about the orthotics industry, as well as receive her ABC Certification for orthotics. Anne Pichey has also transferred to Lansing from the Bond Center facility. Lapeer - Shannon Latulippe made the transfer from the Rochester facility to become the new Supervisor in Lapeer. She's excited about the position and working in this new office. However, not as excited as Deanna Motes, who is expecting a new baby this March! Congrats, Deanna! LER - Congratulations to Tony Filippis, III. He and his wife are the proud parents of a baby girl, Adriana, born on September 20. Livonia - The Livonia facility is continuously being remodeled as well. They are thrilled to welcome a new prosthetist to the facility, Martin Middleton. Manager Nancy Hakala became a new grandmother to a baby boy (Tyler) this fall. In other special events, two Livonia employees turned 50 this year. Congrats to Patrice Coseo and Pam Umerlik! Marquette - Marquette had some interesting visitors from the Rochester facility. Rob Henwood (Inventory), Jeff Mastej (Organizational Improvement), and Pam Lupo (Orthotics) made the journey up from the Lower Peninsula. It was an action-packed week for everyone at the Marquette facility. Port Huron - Mary Reese became the proud mother of a baby boy this fall. Temporarily filling in for her is Lori Walwrath from the Lapeer facility. Port Huron is also working with Mercy Hospital to sponsor a wine tasting event in March. This event will raise money for "The People's Clinic" which gives money to people unable to afford insurance. Purchasing - Geniene Allan is serving Jury Duty. We wonder if it's an exciting case? Saginaw - Lisa Payton will receive the ultimate Christmas gift this year. Her baby is due on Christmas Day! Sault Ste. Marie - The staff at the SSM office is excited about their new facility. They made the move downtown (which is only about one block from the previous location), in early September. The new office is larger and more able to handle the growth in business. We hear they've also been getting snow up there since before Halloween!
Warehouse - Amanda (W25) & Larry Kent (W17) are expecting their first baby, due in May. Congratulations! |
