Letter from the Prez

Personal privacy is important to everyone these days – many of us take steps to prevent credit card companies from selling our information to marketing firms, and we’re careful about what is transmitted over the Internet.

You have probably noticed changes in the way your personal information is handled in your doctor’s office or at the pharmacy, and may have heard something about HIPAA - the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act. HIPAA regulations ensure that your patient information is protected. We want you to know that the privacy of your health information has always been of utmost importance to all of us at Wright & Filippis. We have taken steps to not only comply with, but in certain cases also to exceed, HIPAA regulations in order to protect your privacy.

I want to commend Jeff Mastej, Director of Organizational Improvement, along with John Pincura, Director of Information Technology, and the rest of the IT staff who all worked tirelessly to implement the necessary policies, paperwork, and computer programs needed to maintain HIPAA standards. I would also like to thank the rest of the Wright & Filippis family for their dedication to learning the new procedures and programs.

As always, Wright & Filippis puts the needs of our patients first, including the emphasis on your privacy and comfort.

Sincerely,
AJ Filippis
