A World of Taste
"Cheers!" exclaimed Wright & Filippis and Mercy Hospital for the tremendous success of their wine tasting event, "A World of Taste Awaits You."
On March 21, the Fogcutter Restaurant in Port Huron hosted this gala event to raise awareness and funding for the Peoples' Clinic for Better Health. This is a collaborative project with St. Clair County Medical Society and Mercy Hospital to provide medical care and referral services for those who lack the resources to pay for their own care. Its patients are the working poor who lack benefits or who are unemployed. They rely on a volunteer work force, including physicians from the St. Clair County Medical Society, community members and nurses.
"With over 150 people attending, we were tremendously pleased with the outcome of this first Wine Tasting Event. We are most grateful for the opportunity to join with the Peoples' Clinic for Better Health in supporting the extraordinary work of their outreach programs," stated Mark Hershberger, Manager of the W&F Port Huron facility.
The nautical-themed evening allowed guests to experience a dozen premier wines and extensive hors d'oeuvres from Italy, France, Australia and California. Later in the evening, a raffle was held for one lucky couple to continue their wine tasting by vacationing in the Napa Valley.
