News from Human Resources by Karen Kimberly The Open Enrollment period for Wright & Filippis Employee Benefits Program is quickly approaching. Exact dates are not yet available but a timeline has been established as follows:
All new hires are encouraged to attend the informational meetings. New hires with a benefit eligible effective date of January 1, 2004 will enroll during this Open Enrollment period. Watch for your personalized benefit election form during the month of October, 2003. Please remember: All employees are required to respond to this open enrollment offer, even if you are not wishing to enroll or do not wish to make changes to your current enrollment. Have you considered the benefits of a Flexible Spending Account? Flexible Spending Accounts are IRS programs that are also called Section 125b plans. A Flexible Spending Account or FSA offers two types of accounts; a Healthcare Account will allow you to set aside pre-tax dollars to reimburse yourself and your family for eligible medical expenses that are not covered by your medical plan. A Dependent Care Account allows you to set aside pre-tax dollars to reimburse yourself for childcare expenses for dependent children. |
