Footdrop?
Take a look at the latest technology!

ToeOFF® is a unique Swedish invention that was developed by Dr. Stig Willner and Karl Engdahl. Dr. Willner, an orthopedic surgeon, observed many people with footdrop and also observed that although most had orthoses–most of them hated them for numerous reasons–"too heavy", "won't fit in my shoes", "makes sores on my heels", "lifts my foot but my foot still slaps to the floor". Dr. Willner had worked closely with Mr. Engdahl, an engineer from a company that makes carbon composite products and Camp Scandinavia, a leading supplier of orthopedic products. The three joined together as a task force with the goal to use the new carbon composite technology (already used in prosthetic feet) to develop a new ankle foot orthosis that potential users would want to wear.

The open heel design and the anterior approach eliminate potential for heel sores and allow a closer to normal walking pattern; reducing stress on the knee, hip, and spine. The high tech materials "reflect" energy to provide the needed toe lift assist. ToeOFF
® is not only effective; it is also easy to use. Its lightweight and thinness make it comfortable and simple to take on and off, which are important features for the user.

ToeOFF
® was introduced in Sweden in 1997. The
manufacturer reports that tens of thousands of people around the world are now walking better and further, thanks to ToeOFF
®.

ToeOFF
® requires customization by a trained orthotist to assure optimum comfort and performance. The orthosis requires a prescription and is not appropriate for all cases of footdrop. If you would like to learn more about ToeOFF®, contact your local Wright & Fillipis office.
