Congratulations to our President!

Our very own A.J. Filippis was recently honored for his accomplishments in business. He is a winner of the Ernst & Young 2003 Eastern Michigan Entrepreneur of the Year Award – Health Sciences Division. A.J. was among 37 finalists, representing 35 companies who were nominated. This annual award is given to active members of top management, who are responsible for recent company performance.

A.J., a certified orthotist and prosthetist, began working for Wright & Filippis in 1968 as an orthotic and prosthetic technician. He was vice president from 1981-1997, and in 1997 he took over as president of the company. Since A.J. assumed leadership, Wright & Filippis has grown to 29 locations, with over 600 employees.

"To be named Eastern Michigan Entrepreneur of the Year for Health Sciences is truly an honor. It is the sense of family that built the strength of the company as well as the hard work and dedication of everyone at Wright & Filippis, which made it possible to win this award," said A.J.
