Letter from the Prez

Happy New Year!
I hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday season and is recovering from the holiday feasts and the bombardment of sweets that always appear at this time of year. This is a special year for Wright & Filippis - we are celebrating our 60th anniversary. We have many things for which to be thankful this year - first and foremost are the friendships we have developed with both our referral sources and our patients.

In recognition of our anniversary, we want to take this opportunity to say "thank you" to the community for its support over the years. One of the ways we're showing our appreciation is through our First to Care Program. We've asked all Wright & Filippis employees to donate at least one hour of their time to a non-profit group of their choosing. The response to this request has been phenomenal - people have jumped right in and have already begun volunteering at a variety of organizations.

Many employees are not limiting their time to just one hour. A group of 60 people spent an entire Saturday morning putting Thanksgiving food baskets together at a local food bank. Another group is going to work at a concessions stand at the Palace of Auburn Hills for a series of events throughout the year, and proceeds from food sales will go to a local charity. There are several others who have individually donated their time with churches and other groups.

As the year progresses, we will include photos and stories of people's experiences in future issues of "The Communicator". While I imagine the kindness of our employees will exceed my expectations, their generosity does not surprise me. After all, that's why they strive to make people's lives a little better each day. It makes me proud to have such caring people as part of the Wright & Filippis family.

Sincerely,
AJ Filippis
