Letter from the Prez

Last October, we announced plans for our 60th Anniversary celebration and began accepting applications for our Charitable Donation Program, in which we will give 60 non-profit organizations each $1,000. We received over 350 applications for these donations, and it would be an understatement to say that the task of selecting just 60 beneficiaries was extremely challenging. We are pleased to announce the list of well-deserving recipients in this edition of the Communicator, and are excited to support these wonderful organizations.

Though previously unannounced, our committee also found a way to assist several other non-profit groups. In addition to the $1,000 Charitable Donation recipients, we also had 20 organizations that qualified for grants from the Filippis Foundation (formerly the RRC). Those groups are also listed in this newsletter, and they will each receive $500 toward their educational programs.

On behalf of our 60th Anniversary Committee, I'd like to thank each of the 350 groups who make a daily commitment to our community -- in some way, each of our lives is enriched by the services they provide.

And to the donation recipients, congratulations...we hope you continue to prosper and develop the vital programs that are so important to the many people in our community.
