In the Most Dramatic Rose Ceremony Yet...Wright & Filippis prosthetic tech, Suzie Williams, is hoping to find true love on national television. Suzie is one of 25 women competing for the heart of New York Giants quarterback, Jesse Palmer on ABC's hit reality show, The Bachelor. The process began with an open casting call at a local bar - Suzie was there with some friends and decided to audition. She later received a phone call from the show producers asking her to go to Los Angeles for more interviews...she had made the top 50! On New Year's Eve, Suzie received another phone call from the producers telling her that they were 99% sure she would be one of the 25 finalists. Two weeks later, the producers and a film crew surprised Suzie at work to announce she would be one of the women on The Bachelor.
"I was so surprised! Les VanKuren (Wright & Filippis Warren manager) knew ahead of time that they were coming and kept it a secret. He just kept saying that we needed to clean the lab, but I had no idea why!" said Suzie. The crew filmed Suzie's reaction and spoke to her coworkers, who were all very excited for her. "They are so supportive of me," said Suzie. "They bought me a dress to wear on the show and a diary so I can write down everything that happens." For those who are unfamiliar with the show, The Bachelor follows a gradual process of elimination as the lucky gentleman initially meets 25 women and then must immediately narrow the field down to 15 women after getting to know them for only one evening. The women will not know anything about the bachelor before their initial meeting. He chooses the women he'd like to continue on in the process by presenting each lady with a single red rose. The bachelor will hold one rose ceremony each week, when he must narrow his choices down to ten women, then six, four, three, two, and finally he will offer his final rose to the one woman he hopes to share his life with. Over the six week time period, the bachelor will go on a series of group and individual dates with the women, in an attempt to get to know them better. At any point in the process, if a woman does not want to continue on or is no longer interested in the bachelor, she may reject his invitation to continue dating. |
