Letter from the Prez

The leaves are turning bright colors and there is white stuff on my face (whiskers, not snow!), so it must be fall and time for the annual Wright & Filippis company meeting, which aims to be entertaining as well as informative. A few years ago, we decided to revitalize the image of the meeting in an effort to generate higher interest and convey the message that the goal is for everyone to have a good time. We decided that instead of simply calling the event the "company meeting," it would be the Wright & Filippis Employee Appreciation Weekend.

The name came about because this annual weekend is a chance for us to show our appreciation for everything the employees of Wright & Filippis do. It is also an opportunity for the employees to gain greater appreciation for one another.

When everyone comes together for the Appreciation Weekend, we feel more energized and focused as a staff, and it helps us to build stronger relationships. That is, in the long run, what will help us to provide better customer service.

It was fitting that the new STAR Award for Customer Service Representatives was announced during the morning meeting - it is another way for employees to show their appreciation for one another, and also for our customers to recognize someone with whom they've had a positive encounter.

I was pleased with the number of employees who attended the morning session and then stayed for the evening activities - we had higher attendance this year than in previous years. From the feedback we've received, we already anticipate surpassing our numbers again next year! I appreciate that so many employees feel that this event is important and have an interest in helping Wright & Filippis to become the best it can be.
