Northern Michigan Has a New Provider of Liquid Oxygen

Alpena recently conducted an educational seminar on liquid oxygen to the general public. With the help of the entire advertising department, Tim Hatt, Steve Hartwig from Helios, and the entire Alpena facility staff, account representative Dudley Taliaferro was able to have a very successful product launch introducing liquid oxygen to the northern sections of Michigan.

The one-day event was divided into two sessions. The first session was in the afternoon and was open to all oxygen users in Northern Michigan. Over 50 people attended and were able to get a hands-on demonstration of the benefits of the portable Helios unit. There were plenty of questions and concerns, which were easily answered by both Tim and Steve.

The second session started at 5:30 PM and was reserved strictly to referrals, nurses, and RT's. As expected, the number was much lower for attendance, but the objective was accomplished perfectly.

"One of my primary goals was to educate the referrals on the benefits of liquid to many of their existing O2 patients, and dispel any myths of safety that had been given to them," said Dudley. "The results were exactly as I anticipated, and we managed to obtain about 10 new patients over the next 2 weeks, and have converted many of our existing patients who were prime candidates for the liquid system. I was very pleased with the outcome."

Transitions and new orders continue to come to us on a daily basis.

Alpena is now in the process of strategizing with Care Liquid Systems to make the public aware there are other solutions in addition to the Helios.
