Wright & Filippis Employee Receives Special Honor

Chet Kuskowski was honored with a
Special Recognition award from the National
Polish American Sports Hall of Fame.
On Thursday, June 9, 2005, Wright & Filippis employee and Athletes with Disabilities Hall of Fame alumni (2003) Chet Kuskowski was honored with a Special Recognition Award from the National Polish American Sports Hall of Fame. There were over 600 guests at the dinner held at the American-Polish Cultural Center in Troy, Michigan honoring athletes from Polish descent. Kuskowski was able to meet guests such as Bob Brudzinski, Ron Reed, and Ted Kwalick. Dave Lewis from the Detroit Red Wings was also on hand to celebrate the evening.

In his acceptance speech, Kuskowski credited his Polish heritage for his determination in overcoming challenges and obstacles involved with the 1982 gunshot incident that left him paralyzed. He also thanked his parents, brothers, and co-workers for all their support throughout the years since in helping him to achieve his personal and athletic goals. Kuskowski currently works as a Wheelchair Technician based out of the Flint office.
