WELCOME to the July/August edition of the Online Communicator
Welcome to the July/August edition of the Online Communicator. This has been a busy summer so far - the Michigan Health & Rehabilitation Conference kicked off the season in May, followed by the 22nd Annual Gene Filippis Memorial Golf Benefit. The success of both events was due to the hard work of the organizing committees, volunteers, and support of the sponsors. A recap of the events as well as complete list of Golf Benefit sponsors appears in this edition of the Communicator.
Wright & Filippis was also involved in the Junior Adaptive Sports Camp held at Oakland University in mid-July, and the Ann Arbor Art Fair. Watch for the next edition of the Communicator for full details and photos of the two events. And capping off our summer events is the ever-popular Wheelchair Daze Picnic, now in its 26th year, held on August 5. The picnic provides a fun day of activities and a barbecue lunch for disabled children and their families. Inside this edition, you'll also find this month's Facility Spotlight - Bond Center. As the "Heart of Wright & Filippis," the Bond Center facility is the largest home medical equipment distribution center in the Midwest, employs over 180 people and houses eight departments. Also be sure to read about the Full Circle Breast Cancer Motorcycle Ride, which takes place in Flint. Some of Wright & Filippis employees from the Flint facility participated in this worthy event to raise money for people affected by breast cancer. Last but not least, the Letter from the Prez gives some great advice for beating the heat this summer and avoiding dehydration. We hope you enjoy this edition of the Online Communicator. Enjoy the rest of the summer! As always, we welcome your feedback.
