Letter from the Prez

In the last edition of the Communicator, I introduced our new respiratory program – Breathe Wright – for people with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. In this unique program, state-of-the-art technology is combined with enhanced services to help improve the quality of life for people living with COPD.

To add to our Breathe Wright program, Wright & Filippis has been chosen as Michigan's EXCLUSIVE provider of the Inogen One oxygen system. This revolutionary new system is designed to perform as both a stationary and portable oxygen concentrator. Unlike traditional oxygen systems, patients with the Inogen One don't have to deal with transporting cumbersome tanks or waiting for oxygen delivery.

With spring approaching, people will be spending more time outdoors. Now, with the Inogen One, oxygen users who qualify don't have to sacrifice an active lifestyle. The Inogen One provides true portability for its users because it is small and light (weighing only nine pounds) and doesn't require the use of tanks.

The Inogen One draws in the surrounding air and filters out the nitrogen so it can be used anywhere, anytime. It runs on rechargeable batteries that last up to three hours, and has a satellite conserver that allows the patient to be up to 100 feet away from the Inogen One unit. The satellite conserver acts as a remote control to the Inogen One and can be discreetly placed in a pocket, clipped onto a belt, or worn around the neck like a necklace.

We are pleased to be able to offer this new technology to our patients and are excited about the new doors that will be opened for people who use oxygen. Please contact your local Wright & Filippis facility for more info.

Sincerely,
A.J. Filippis
