Facility Spotlight:
Madison Heights
Pediatric &
Mobility Center

As soon as you approach the Wright & Filippis Pediatric & Mobility Center, it's clear that this facility is different from the others. From the sign out front to the unique décor inside, this facility was designed with kids in mind.

Upon entering the building, the first thing visitors will notice are the brightly painted red, blue, green and yellow walls. In the center of the showroom is the children's waiting room, complete with kid-sized tables and chairs, and toys and games to entertain them. Children can have their measurements taken and basic adjustments made in the waiting room to minimize discomfort.

While the overall design is for children, the Pediatric & Mobility Center is a full-service facility able to accommodate patients of all ages. In addition to orthotics and prosthetics, the Mobility department and the Central Fabrication lab are also located within this facility.

The Mobility Department provides custom wheelchairs, which offer a wide selection in mobility, seating and positioning products. Our staff of highly-trained Rehabilitation Technology Specialists will provide the appropriate assistive and enabling technology for those who need it. This new Mobility Center provides a new level of service than what Wright & Filippis previously offered. We now have a test track available with a variety of surfaces, terrain, and ramps, which enables patients to experiment with their wheelchair in various environments.

The Central Fabrication lab has relocated from the Rochester Hills facility, and enjoys being in the new location, with plenty of room to spread out. Central Fabrication is where the orthotics and prosthetics are made for each of the facilities throughout the company.

Overall, there are 43 people working at the Pediatric & Mobility Center. They are located at 1100 W. Thirteen Mile Rd. in Madison Heights and can be reached at (248) 658-0990, or (248) 658-0988 for the Mobility Department.
