Veterans Show Their Gratitude
The Oakland County Veterans Group presented flag to AJ Filippis in honor of Tony Filippis Sr.

The Oakland County Veterans Group showed their homage to the late Tony Filippis Sr. by presenting an American flag to his son and President of Wright & Filippis, AJ Filippis. Tony spent his life helping the disabled including hundreds of veterans. The flag was the first one to fly over the Pontiac Veterans Memorial, which is currently under construction. The memorial is being built inside the Perry Mount Park Cemetery in Pontiac, MI. When completed, the memorial will have the names of 6,000 military veterans from the Pontiac area.

After the presentation ceremony, the flag was placed in a case that was inscribed "To Tony with Thanks and Gratitude from the Oakland County Veterans Group." Jack Bressler, president of the Oakland County Veterans Group, said of Tony, "We admired him. He was a great supporter of the memorial and veterans."

The flag will stay at the Rochester Hills facility among many other awards Tony received throughout his life.
