Letter from the Prez

If you're seeing denim, it must be Friday... the first Friday of the month, that is.

Here at Wright & Filippis, we've recently instituted a "Jean Day" program that allows employees to wear blue jeans, or any other color jeans, to work in exchange for making a small contribution to a local charity. Each month, a different non-profit organization will receive these proceeds.

I know that many companies have their own version of "Jean Day," but what makes our program unique is that it was developed as a result of our staff's desire to help a variety of worthy causes. When you also consider the challenge presented by having a company of 800 employees that is divided into more than 30 buildings in all parts of Michigan and Ohio, it's quite difficult to hold a fundraiser in which everyone can participate.

Consequently, "Jean Day" was born.

Thus far we have donated to the March of Dimes and the Salvation Army. For the month of March we will be wearing our jeans for National Kidney month. In April our employees will be supporting the Filippis Foundation.

So if you meet a Wright & Filippis staff member who happens to be wearing a pair of Levi's, please understand that professionalism hasn't taken a back seat – it's simply the sign of a generous heart.

Sincerely,
A.J. Filippis
