Hospital Beds Donated to Ghana
It was a joint effort by Wright & Filippis® and Crittenton Hospital to provide 40 hospital beds to Ghana, West Africa. The beds that were generously donated by Crittenton Hospital total $200,000. Wright & Filippis has continued its ongoing efforts to aid Ghana and provided the transportation and built the large crates to transport the beds. Wright & Filippis Director of Orthotics, Pam Lupo Filippis, is a board member of FOCOS, The Foundation of Orthopedics and Complex Spine. The mission of FOCOS is to provide comprehensive, affordable orthopedic and spine care to underserved communities in Ghana and throughout West Africa. The beds will go to the new FOCOS hospital that is still in its fundraising phase, with $3.5 million already raised, an additional $5 million is still needed. Ernie Taylor, Manager of the Wright & Filippis warehouse, oversaw the entire process. "Ernie has been instrumental in previously shipping four 40 foot containers of orthotic and prosthetic devices. This would not be possible without Ernie's passionate commitment to our efforts." explains Pam, "and we will continue our mission towards the support of Ghana."
