Letter from the Prez

At Wright & Filippis, we take great pride in the community-related events we support and host, and we're fortunate to have had some extremely successful events recently. Of course, this success wouldn't be possible without the tremendous contributions from our volunteers and sponsors, and I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all of them.

The list of events is staggering. It includes the annual Gene Filippis Memorial Golf Benefit (which raised more than $60,000 for local charities). It also includes our Wheelchair Daze Picnic at Independence Oaks County Park; the Athletes with Disabilities Hall of Fame Golf Outing in Dearborn; the adaptive sports clinics and "Camp YesICan" in the Upper Peninsula; and our "Senior Days" events at Comerica Park.

For the second year we were a major sponsor for the Extremity Games (X Games for amputees) in Orlando, Florida. With our leadership they were able to add a Motocross event. The Amputeam sent down 12 athletes and brought back 9 medals including the Jeff Green Friendship Award.

I would also like to congratulate the successes enjoyed by our Ann Arbor facility, which coordinated complimentary wheelchair use at the Ann Arbor Street Art Fairs, and the Saginaw facility, which hosted its first Wheelchair Daze Picnic.
