Dear Wright & Filippis Employees and the Filippis Foundation, One hundred and fourteen Wright & Filippis employees each generously contributed five dollars to a "casual dress day" fund raiser on my behalf. The Filippis Foundation kindly matched this money. Thank you so much for your contribution of $1,140 to my benefit celebration on November 3rd, at the MSU University Club. I am overwhelmed with gratitude to you and to all of those involved without whose sponsorship it would have been impossible for me to have had this wonderful event. More than once I was moved to tears of joy and gratitude for the support I received from family, friends, sponsors, and volunteers. I feel honored, humbled, and grateful to be so blessed. The music was incredible, including first-rate seasoned artists from the metro Detroit blues scene, in addition to a remarkable blues guitarist friend who traveled from Oregon to perform. We had about 125 people show up during the course of the event, including volunteers and musicians loving every minute of it. The silent auction was a big success and contributed significantly to the event. People also really enjoyed the several professional massage therapists available to give chair massages for donations. Over $7,000 was raised the day of the event; people who were unable to attend sent contributions in the mail. These contributions and proceeds from the day of the event, combined with sponsorship money that exceeded the expenses of the benefit, totaled around $13,000. Your contribution to this success will help me to continue my healing journey. You give me hope and I feel that you are with me as I work to defeat ALS. Your support is truly inspirational for me. I cannot adequately express what is in my heart for you. FYI, I will continue to workout in the rehab gym 9 hours each week with the assistance of Wright & Filippis leg braces and hand braces. Thank you! With gratitude and love, Craig Oster The following letter was written to Wright & Filippis Account Representative Louie Conz of Lincoln Park. Dear Mr. Louie, How do I even begin to thank you for everything you do? Once again, we had an outstanding evening of fun and excitement at the 5th Annual Wheelchair Basketball Challenge held on October 26th, 2007. The game, as always, gives our kids an opportunity to experience the thrill of sports and competition and also serves as a fundraiser for our highly philanthropically funded program. This year we were able to raise $1,600 towards our Program for Exceptional Families. Please know that we appreciate the time, participation and involvement you and Wright & Filippis have put into this annual event to help our kids feel like the superstars they are. We look forward to many years of partnership with you. Thank You! Eve Patten, LBOA Susan Youngs, MD |
